Some answers
3. An ideal basis for conversations is some common ground. If you want to talk to some one from your class, for instance, you can ask what he/she thinks of this teacher or of that assignment, maybe if you could copy an entry you missed to write down for some reason, and yeah, what was our homework again? Level up would be to have some actual common ground, books, music, movies, hobbies, that kind of thing.
2. Normal is to hate the smell and taste of bananas. As far as I'm concerned at least.
1. First of all not everybody hates nerds. There are nerd-friends, and there are so many nerds, they don't hate themselves.
But I know that's not what you meant. the truth is, no one knows. What is being a nerd to you? Wikipedia says, "overly intellectual, obsessive, or socially impaired. They may spend inordinate amounts of time on unpopular, obscure, or non-mainstream activities, which are generally either highly technical or relating to topics of fiction or fantasy, to the exclusion of more mainstream activities. Additionally, many nerds are described as being shy, quirky, and unattractive, and may have difficulty participating in, or even following, sports." So in accordance to your question, why everybody dislikes nerds, it's because they're not mainstream, I guess.

Helpful? Probably not. Worth a try.

Zu der zweiten Frage (rein nach meiner Erfahrung): Normal ist, sich nicht zu fragen, was normal ist.
Eine bessere Antwort hab ich noch nicht gefunden.
